The 4th Festival of the Arts took place from 17 to 18 June 2011 at Ausstellungsstrasse 60 and Gessnerallee 9-13 in Zurich. At the festival young artists show what they do: design, art, music, theatre, film and art education enter into a dialogue with each other and with the interested public. Bar/Lounge - Design Salon
The Department of Design created and operated the festival bar in the foyer of the Museum of Design. Under the title "Design Salon", the room was provided with projections from the specialisations and light installations of the research project "COLOUR&LIGHT". The inspiring meeting place invited people to exchange ideas and stay for a while before or after the events.
Light installation
For the lighting of the foyer 5 City Color 2500W colour changers were used, which were installed outside on the sidewalk and illuminated the interior through the windows. The shadows of the characteristic windows were projected onto the walls and ceiling. In addition, a 10000W halogen spotlight was installed outside, which illuminated the staircase through a large window in a similar way. This should imitate the characteristics of the sunlight.
