artmatters – Austausch zwischen angehenden Kunstpädagog_innen aus der Schweiz und aus den Ländern des Südkaukasus, Bildrechte: Jean David Jamet, Olivia Jaques, Dagmar Reichert und Judit Villiger

This is the second phase of a two-year exchange programme between aspiring art teachers from the South Caucasus and Switzerland. While two workshops with students from Abkhazia and Georgia were held during a reciprocal visit in the first year (spring semester 2018), an exchange with students from Armenia is planned for the second year (spring semester 2019). Our partner here is the Armenian State Pedagogical University in Yerevan. The aim of the exchange programme is to enable meetings and experiences in which an awareness of one’s own position and the respective cultural conditions with regard to educational issues and understanding of art and education can be developed and shared. The aspiring art teachers will have the opportunity to expand their ideas of “culture” and their methods of teaching. The process and the results of the exchange will be reflected on throughout the project and put forward for discussion in October 2019 in a public event (with an exhibition) at ZHdK. In November 2019, a final evaluation of the project spanning two years in total will be carried out by external experts.
