The color-light-center developed for an event of the Design Department a new light installation specifically for the ZHdK Mehrspur Musikclub.
For the completely black room with exception of the floor conventional light bulbs were combined with programmable RGB LEDs.
The light bulbs were grouped into 5-6 lamps, while for the LEDs the 5 platonic solids (tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron, icosahedron) were produced from translucent paper in different sizes resulting in luminous objects of light.
The dimmed light bulbs, which were glowing yellow-orange and the platonic solids which were changing between warm and cold colors, were suspended in alternation of a 2m grid.
This temporary light installation was subsequently used for almost one year for different concerts.
