As part of an in-depth project, participants of the CAS Fundamentals of Typography choose a topic from one of the five semester modules. Simon Hofstede's starting point was font designs from the module “Sign, Word, Brand”. He vectorised these sketches and developed them further into a digital font. Striking ink traps combined with round geometric shapes add character to the look of the “Pold Sans” typeface.
The result is a font that looks so delicious that it is ideal for brand designs in the food sector.
A small edition of merchandise products shows the humour and potential of this project.
