“Project Circleg” is the Bachelor’s thesis of Fabian Engel and Simon Oschwald, specializing in Industrial Design. The project is concerned with developing and creating a low-cost leg prosthesis from recycled plastic waste for people in developing and emerging countries. This issue combines two areas that are relevant from both an environmental and social perspective. Not only does a large quantity of plastic waste end up at landfill sites in emerging and developing countries, but there is also a high global demand for affordable leg prostheses. Project Circleg aims to make use of plastic waste as a resource to help satisfy this demand.
