At the age of 47, Stefan is diagnosed with dementia. At home, he continues managing his mail, cooking, and keeping things in order. But the disease progresses relentlessly, making it impossible for him to live alone. In the care home, Stefan meets Monika, a warm-hearted fitness instructor who gives him new strength. However, he is increasingly plagued by hallucinations. Stefan's condition worsens when Monika leaves for a world trip. Shortly after, Stefan also loses his job and sinks further into the fog of his illness.
