Project "Swiss Science Film Channel" Overview

We aim at establishing a Swiss Science Film Channel; a common and unique platform, where Swiss science films, for the wide public, could be shared. The films in the Swiss Science Film Channel are exclusively related to research developed in Switzerland. The content of the channel is regulated, peer-reviewed, and promoted.

The Swiss Science Film Channel will have positive impact on science communication and connecting science and society.

Swiss science films for the wide audience are neglected; their production is very low and sporadic, while their distribution is uncontrolled and unlinked to Swiss scientific research. The defects in Swiss science film production and distribution have negative effects by limiting the impact of these films on society, stakeholders and policy-makers. And hence science films in Switzerland do not accomplish their main reason-to-be ‘connecting science and society’.

To overcome these handicaps, we aim at establishing a Swiss Science Film Channel; a common and unique platform, where Swiss science films, for the wide public, could be shared. The films in the Swiss Science Film Channel are exclusively related to research developed in Switzerland. The content of the channel is regulated, peer-reviewed, and promoted.

The Swiss Science Film Channel will have positive impact on science communication and connecting science and society.
