The years of adolescence are characterized by essential mental and social developmental steps in which the brain reorganizes itself. A critical turning point in life becomes apparent at the beginning of adulthood, when a stable sense of identity has to be developed. Unfavourable developments in neurobiological and psychosocial interaction favour mental disorders such as depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD and dissocial disorders. If 18- to 21-year-olds receive preventive support in the construction of identity, mental disorders could be counteracted in a targeted manner.
The evaluation of state of the art research has shown that media-supported interventions in psychotherapy and applications for self-training have a positive effect on psychological development. It can be assumed that adolescents can be sustainably supported in identity construction if blended theory, behavioral, schematic and ego state therapy as well as gamification are specifically intertwined. A first outlined prototype will explore implementation possibilities and form the basis of the planned pilot study. The goal of the pilot study is to develop and research the self-training application Identico*.
