The “Handbook of the Collections of Historical and Rare Books in Switzerland” sees itself as a descriptive inventory of the printed works held in various Swiss archives and libraries and published from the beginning of book printing to 1900. It is addressed to interested laypersons and scholars.
One contribution to this handbook (published at the end of 2004) is made by the Graphics Collection and Library of Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), which co-produce several research papers and a presentation delivered within the University’s Research & Development Lecture Series. Research reveals interesting insights into the books housed in the Graphics Collection.
The “Handbook of the Collections of Historical and Rare Books in Switzerland” is ceremoniously presented to a wider public at the National Library in Bern on 8 December 2011. Copies may be ordered from Verlag Olms.
