The subject of this book project is the history of electro-acoustic music in Switzerland from its beginning in the early 20th century to its general acceptance at the end of the last century.
The entire sphere of Electroacoustic Music is covered, from the early electronic instruments, the pioneering times of the fifties and sixties, the developments within the academic field, selected aspects of Computer Music all the way to Pop- and Subculture, Techno and Jazz/Improvisation.

In addition to Bruno Spoerri more collaborators from the german and french parts of Switzerland are involved. They are familiar with specific facetes of Electroacoustic Music and/or are closely involved with the subject through personal experience. The variety of viewpoints presented helps to obain an unbiased perspective on the field (Alfred Zimmerlin, Thomas Meyer, Fritz Muggler, Daniel Weissberg, Isabelle Mili, J.M. Büttner, Tomas Korber, Marcus Maeder, Dominik Landwehr a.o.).
The attached DVD-Rom will contain a biographic encyclopedia including a list of works and a discography of over one hundert Swiss musicians from the past and present. Furthermore a number of detailed research reports and documents will be be part of the publication.
The result of this three-year research project was published in March 2010 by the Chronos Publishing House.
