“Cyborg Bodies: The End of the Progressive Body” takes artistic reflections and realisations of cyborgs as its starting point for exploring the specific contribution of art to the discourses on the future body and (human) subjects.
The project regards cyborgs not merely as cybernetic organisms, i.e. as human-machine aggregates, as they are generally defined, but rather as fantasies of hybrid, monstrous, machine-like, cloned, digital, integrated, cellular, or transgenic bodies. Essentially, “Cyborg Bodies” thus include all notions of the body as a conglomerate, artistic, and novel entity.
