The extensive interviews of the two research projects Cinémémoire and Film Experiments are made publicly available. On the website hosted by the ZHdK, the interview transcripts and the interviews are closely linked so that users can switch between text and video.
Based on forty individual memories and experiences of moviegoers, lighting companies, cinematographers, distributors, distributors, editors, scriptwriters, assistant directors, directors, producers, an actor, two actresses, a scriptwriter, film technicians, commissioned filmmakers, amateur filmmakers, television editors, film journalists, a film functionary, the functions sometimes overlap, Cinémémoire.ch illuminates the everyday professional practice in the sixties and seventies.
The memory leads an uncontrollable life of its own, it distorts, omits, beautifies or gives meaning. Therefore, it seemed sensible to get shared experiences or circumstances of different contemporary witnesses. However, it is not only events that have found their way into a collective memory that are important, but especially the everyday in the memory of the interlocutors. The quantity of the memories, the comparison of the statements and written sources should make it possible to sketch an overall picture that is not dominated only by subjective individual perspectives - and interpretations - but characterized by polyphony. Cinémémoire.ch does not want to destroy "legends". It aims to use memories and previously unrecognized sources to create a differentiated picture of filmmaking in the sixties and seventies.
