Assessments are increasingly being used during training courses for personnel or to help select future employees for companies. Role play is a key tool here. Often this role play is carried out by internal employees, which has a number of drawbacks.
The Institute for the Performing Arts and Film (IPF) worked successfully with various businesses by deploying professional actors at assessment centres in a role play capacity. An analysis of this collaboration revealed that assessment centres tend be more objective and make better choices if they use trained actors. The research project evaluated and documented experiences to date with a view to coming up with an offer that suits the market.
