Performative Practice
Researchers in performative practice study the media, instruments and structures in the performing arts, in particular the body, voice and movement and their interaction, as well as the relationship between performative practice and its social relativity and meaning. Performative practice takes place today in a hypermedia environment, both in front of an audience and with the involvement of, and in confrontation with, a host of different media (e.g. video, film, the visual arts). The research focusses on the field of tension between production, reception and the technological and cultural framework for performative practice.
