    About

    Performative Practice

This Research Focus initiates and organizes practical research in the performing arts.
We adopt qualitative, quantitative and artistic research methods.

    Our strategic goals are:

    To remain practically relevant:

    • We foster an approach that tracks issues of education in theatre and dance as closely as possible
    • We support practical research methods (practice-based research, artistic research)
    • Artists are involved in the research

To cultivate a sustainable research culture:

    • Research expertise should be structured for the long term
    • Major topic clusters are pursued over several years and research projects so as to gain visibility in the international research community
    • Researchers should be funded for long-term careers
