    About Film Research

The Research Focus Film initiates, undertakes, and supports projects closely related to film production. Research interests include creative filmmaking in the force field between aesthetics and technology and the sensory perception of filmic works. We understand film not only as a research subject but also as a medium to articulate knowledge. The majority of the research projects are focussing on the im impact of digitalization on film asthetic, film craft and film perception.

Film is one of two research focuses at the Institute for the Performing Arts and Film (IPF). The fields of theatre and dance are explored within «Performative Practice». Both research focuses are closely related to teaching and learning within the Department of Performing Arts and Film.
