Professor for Production Design

Since 2018, Prof. Silke Fischer has been responsible for the Bachelor courses in the area of Production Design.
Her research interest is real space and how it is experienced as cinematic space

Prof. Dr. Sabine Gisiger

Professor for Documentary Film

Since 2002, Prof. Dr. Sabine Gisiger has been teaching documentary film at ZHdK, and is the Head of the Master Documentary Film. In 1988, she completed her doctorate at the University of Zurich with a dissertation on the history of maids. Sabine Gisiger is the Director of the biennial Zurich Documentary Conference, ZDOK.
Her research interests include the use of archival material in documentary film.

Prof. Pierre Mennel

Professor for Camera

Prof. Pierre Mennel has been teaching lighting and image design at ZHdK since 2005, and has been a professor since 2015.
His research topics are directed lighting in film and digitalization of camera technology.

Prof. Michael Schaerer

Professor for Film Editing

Since 2007, Prof. Michael Schaerer has been teaching at ZHdK in the area of Montage and Staging. He is the responsible for the “MA Film Editing” profile and Director of the biennial Zurich Fiction Film Conference, ZFICTION.
His research interests include pre-visualization and montage during film pre-production.
