Sophie Vögele has a background in anthropology and Gender Studies (University of Basel, Heidelberg and Geneva) and was affiliated to the sociology department at York University Toronto. Since 2014, she has a position as a senior researcher in Art Education at the Department of Cultural Analysis, ZHdK with selected additional teaching assignments. Her research focuses on social inequality, processes of Othering, and the location of critique within Higher (Art) Education and in the cultural field. She thereby is interested in institutionalized mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion from a critical, feminist and post-colonial studies’ perspective.
