The Institute for Art Education – with respect to university and cross-departmental research – is situated at the intersection of art, education and teaching in the arts. The IAE recognizes the potential of a transfer between research and teaching. This exchange occurs in various ways: members of the institute’s staff are in part actively involved in teaching, with curricular responsibilities. Carmen Mörsch and Anna Schürch (core team) are responsible for the network and research modules in the specialization “teaching and learning” of the Master Art Education, and Carmen Mörsch (core team) and Nora Landkammer for the modules on gallery education in the Master Art Education, curatorial studies”. In addition, members of the IAE staff serve as guest lecturers at various institutions in Switzerland and abroad. Through research projects, they collaborate with actors from the fields of practice, thereby contributing to professional development. Knowledge exchanges take place in the reverse direction as well: interested students have the opportunity to acquire experience in the IAE fields of work through internships or postings.
