The PreCollege Art and Sport (K+S) Rämibühl combines a grammar school education with the musical PreCollege programme of the ZHdK. The grammar school programme (short-term grammar school of the Canton of Zurich) lasts five years instead of four. Spreading the school education over a further year allows the weekly attendance time to be reduced to six half-days per week and therefore significantly more time to be spent on the main instrumental subject. The transfer from PreCollege to the Bachelor of Arts degree programme at the ZHdK takes place in the third year in harmony/tonal composition and aural training, and in the fifth year in the main subject. The main subject lessons can be taken internally with ZHdK lecturers or externally with your own teacher until the entrance examination to the University of Music.

Open to all profiles, the ZHdK PreCollege Music offers the module Improvisation in small groups. On offer are free improvisational approaches and improvisation in the jazz/pop field.
