Biography

Raphael Jecker studierte Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnologie an der ETH Zürich. Seine Masterarbeit 'Automatic Digital Model Creation of Analog Audio Units' schrieb er 2010 bei Native Instruments in Berlin, danach arbeitete er als DSP- und Software-Entwickler beim Digitalmischpult-Hersteller Studer/Soundcraft in Regensdorf, Zürich. Von 2013 bis 2023 unterrichtete er an der FFTon (Höhere Fachschule für Tontechnik) in Zürich die Fächer Mathematik, Digital Audio und Audiosysteme. 2018 schloss er das Bachelor- und 2020 das Masterstudium im Studiengang Musik & Tonmeister (Pop) an der ZHdK ab. Er arbeitet als Freelance Tonmeister, Musiker und Softwareentwickler, beispielsweise mit Merging Technologies an ihrem Audio Interface 'Anubis' (Neumann MT 48). Seit 2020 arbeitet er ausserdem als Senior Acoustic Engineer für Sennheiser Mobility.

An der ZHdK unterrichtet er die Fächer 'Studiotechnik', "Technische Gehörbildung"
und "Mathematik & Informatik" für Tonmeister, sowie individuellen Einzelunterricht.

Raphael Jecker studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at ETH Zurich. He wrote his master's thesis, 'Automatic Digital Model Creation of Analog Audio Units,' in 2010 at Native Instruments in Berlin. Afterward, he worked as a DSP and software developer at the digital mixing console manufacturer Studer/Soundcraft in Regensdorf, Zurich. From 2013 to 2023, he taught mathematics, digital audio, and audio systems at FFTon (Advanced Technical School for Audio Engineering) in Zurich. In 2018, he completed his bachelor's degree and in 2020 his master's degree in Music & Audio Engineering (Pop) at ZHdK. He works as a freelance audio engineer, musician, and software developer, collaborating with companies such as Merging Technologies on their audio interface 'Anubis' (Neumann MT 48). Since 2020, he has also been working as a Senior Acoustic Engineer for Sennheiser Mobility.

At ZHdK, he teaches Studio Technology, Technical Ear Training, and Mathematics & Computer Science for Tonmeister students, in addition to offering individualized one-on-one lessons.
