Biography
Diogo Moutinho is a Portuguese bassoonist and one of the most promising of his generation, sharing his passion for music throughout the country.
Diogo Moutinho began his studies at Academia de Artes de Chaves and studied with Carolina Fonte, Patrรญcia Costa, Virgรญlio Oliveira and Sandra Ochoa. After finishing the course, he continued his studies with Prof. Pedro Silva at ESMAE, in Oporto, having received several awards. At the V Mostra Musical do Eixo Atlรขntico, in the category Agrupamentos Menores, he received 1st prize with his quintet A'Laรญse. In 2018, the 1st prize in the Terras de La Salette competition, Junior category, and the following year won the Double Reed Festival Competition.
As a principal bassoon, he played with the Orquestra Sinfรณnica Ensemble, the Orquestra Filarmรณnica Portuguesa, the Orquestra de Guimarรฃes, among others, and performed in the major halls of Portugal, including the Casa da Mรบsica, Europarque, among others.
He had masterclasses with prestigious teachers and conductors such as Matthias Racz, Sophie Dervaux, Giorgio Mandolesi, Carlo Colombo, Gustavo Nรบรฑez, Patrick de Ritis, Ricardo Ramos, Cesรกrio Costa, Antรณnio Saiote, Josรฉ Pascual Vilaplana and Douglas Bostok.
Diogo Moutinho plays with a Walter bassoon and will continue studying in Master of Arts ZFH in Specialized Music Performance with a Specialization in Orchestra, Bassoon at the University of Arts of Zurich with the prestigious professor Giorgio Mandolesi.
