    ZURICH ART NOV! - The art world opens its doors

    From 11 to 13 November 2022, Zurich is characterized by its thriving art scene. For the first time, Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) will host ZURICH ART NOV! - an initiative of the Department of Fine Arts and Zurich Art Weekend. Throughout the city, museums, foundations, galleries and off-spaces will open their doors for an inspiring weekend with over 60 exhibitions and curated events. Admission is free of charge.

    ZHdK will be represented at several exhibitions and panel discussions at ZURICH ART NOV! The kick-off of the weekend will take place on Friday evening at the ZHdK starting at 5 pm with a guided tour of the Toni-Areal. Over the course of three days, the public will be offered the chance to connect with personalities from the arts and participate in a wide range of on-site events including guided tours with gallerists and curators, artist talks, workshops, symposiums, and many more.

    Some examples of events from the Department of Fine Arts at ZHdK :

    Presentation of the Shizuko Yoshikawa Award 2022
    The award ceremony with a screening of works by award winner and Master Fine Arts graduate Jiajia Zhang will take place in presence of the artist. The award honours her exploration of the media imagery and distribution channels of our time.

    Special screening of the exhibition "Sonia Gomes, Anna Maria Maiolino, Solange Pessoa".
    Special viewing of the exhibition โ€žSonia Gomes, Anna Maria Maiolino, Solange Pessoaโ€œ, curated by Bachelor Fine Arts students, led by Laura Bechter and Dr. Gabrielle Schaad, in cooperation with the Ursula Hauser Collection.

    Open Studios Master Fine Arts
    MFA students will open their studios, giving the public the opportunity to meet young artists, discuss their processes and discover new works.

    KEYNOTE TALK - "THE ARTS OF IMMERSION: NEW EXPERIENCES BETWEEN ART, DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY"
    Prof Dr Christopher Lloyd Salter, director and curator of the Immersive Arts Space at ZHdK, will give a comprehensive overview of the phenomenon we call "immersion" and highlight historical as well as contemporary artistic works that address critical questions: What happens to our sense of self and our bodies in new immersive as well as technological environments?
