The Zurich Feature Film Conference ZFICTION.22 explores the question of how stories can be told in a dramaturgically fresh and convincing way. To what extent is the reception and engagement with stories changing? Can audience members be more challenged by genre mixes? What mechanisms are stimulated when we engage with narrative patterns? International experts will hold lectures on March 24 and 25, provide insights into their work, and shed light on narrative models and contemporary demands in feature films.
Planned are, among others, lectures and case studies by Linda Seger (e.g. "Making a Good Script Great"), Christian Schwochow ("Munich: The Edge of War," "Je Suis Karl"), Anna Sofie Hartmann ("Giraffe"), Fred Baillif ("La Mif"), Christine Lang (Leipzig University of Music and Theatre, "Kalte Probe"), Fritz Breithaupt (Indiana University, USA, "The Dark Side of Empathy"), Marja-Riitta Koivumรคki (Aalto University, Finland), Kathrin Resetarits (Film Academy Vienna, "Licht"), Vinca Wiedemann (Story Supervisor "Melancholia," "Nymphomaniac"), Lars Wiebe (Netflix) and Jan Bennemann (Netflix).
