Dafi Kühne (*1982) studied visual communication at the ZHdK in Zurich. Since 2009 he has been working full-time in his studio babyinktwice.ch in the canton of Glarus and teaching on a project basis at various universities in Switzerland, Europe and the USA. He is currently exhibiting his work at the Gewerbemuseum in Winterthur.

Swiss designer Dafi Kühne combines contemporary graphic design with old printing technology in a uniquely creative way. In addition to digital design and production tools, he uses letterpress printing equipment dating from the 1960s, traditional type made of lead or wood, laser-cut woodblocks, plastic printing plates and hand-cut linoleum to produce his works. He always keeps the entire design process in mind when creating his posters and other typographical designs, achieving striking results with his skilful selection of the most suitable printing technique out of the wide range at his disposal.

The “Workshop Show” gives an insight into his multifaceted work, highlighting the processes, experiments and tools used.
