“Syncope”, the film by Bachelor’s film student Linus von Stumberg, celebrates its international premiere at the Sapporo Short Fest in Japan and wins two awards.

The film already had its world premiere at Camerimage in the “Panorama” section. Now, it has been selected for the Sapporo Short Fest in Japan, where it celebrates its international premiere. Linus von Stumberg wins two awards with “Syncope”, namely “Best Screenplay” and the “Jury Award” at the Sapporo Short Fest.

The film tells the story of Whim, who successfully navigates an unusual audition for the dance piece Syncope but quickly realizes that her full commitment to the choreographer is not enough. What other dancers experience in rehearsals is only a preview of what the dark work will demand from them.

Linus von Stumberg is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Film at the Zurich University of the Arts and is a trained dancer.

The Sapporo Short Fest in Japan took place from 23 to 26 November.
