The ZHdK spin-off “Somebodyelse” on RTS

The ZHdK spin-off “Somebodyelse” was a guest on the programme “Vivants” on Swiss television RTS. The programme, which aired on 6 December, focused on bats from a variety of disciplinary perspectives. As part of the programme, BA Industrial Design graduates Eliane Zihlmann and Raffaele Grossjean presented their virtual reality experience «BATVISION». The project started as a diploma project and was continued as a ZHdK spin-off after graduation.

In “BATVISION”, VR is used to visualise the auditory image of bats. The starting point of the project is the relationship between humans and animals in the context of their perception. It is based on the assumption that a change of perspective can help to influence ways of thinking and strengthen empathy and awareness for other living beings.
