Mio Sumiyama and Sumina Sasaki, both students at Zurich Dance Academy, gave convincing performances before the international jury at the Prix de Lausanne and were awarded highly reputed prizes. George Susman and Dรฉsirรฉe Guler were awarded a gold and bronze medal respectively at the European Ballet Grand Prix in Vienna.
Sumina Sasaki and Mio Sumiyama performed their modern and classical variations before the jury at the Prix de Lausanne (3-10 February) and were both awarded one of the eight one-year scholarships worth 20,000 Swiss francs. Sumina Sasaki was also awarded the "Best Swiss Candidate" Prize worth 2,500 Swiss francs. The Prix de Lausanne was founded in 1973 and has since served as a springboard for aspiring professional classical dancers from all over the world.
Success in Vienna
At the 3rd European Ballet Grand Prix in Vienna (5-9 February 2019), taz students George Susman and Dรฉsirรฉe Guler were both awarded medals in the category "Professional ballet schools/classical solo." Susman won gold in the Senior category. Up-and-coming talent Guler won bronze in the Junior category.
