Around 1200 visitors attended the Climate Week in New York City. The week consisted of 16 events with 75 speakers and an extensive exhibition. The Department of Design (ZHdK) is proud to have participated in the event.

The «Punch Prize» - an initiative between the REFRESH festival and Swissnex in Boston und New York - was awarded for the first time in 2024 to three graduates of the Department of Design. As part of the Climate Week New York (25-27 September 2024), the three winning projects were presented to an international audience as part of an exhibition at the «Climate Ring» event initiated by Swissnex. All the projects share a discursive engagement with the fragile balance between human and nature. In their design practice, the graduates explored ecological issues in depth and translated their research into interactive and multi-sensory experiences as well as concrete design solutions.

    Winning projects:
«More Moor» by Riva Pinto (MA Major in Interaction Design)
«Corralum» by Emilia Lendi (BA Major in Industrial Design)
«In Full Bloom» by Charisse Ann de Leon und Lisa Bach (BA Major in Game Design)
