From the autumn semester of 2025, Prof. Ragna Schirmer will teach the main subject of piano at ZHdK.

The award-winning pianist Ragna Schirmer has been highly acclaimed by concert audiences and critics for many years. Her discography currently includes 18 CDs, 2 DVDs and 2 vinyl recordings with an extensive repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary music. Ragna Schirmer performs worldwide on her own historical keyboard instruments or on modern concert grand pianos. In unusual projects and theatre productions staged for her, the pianist's dramaturgical skills can also be seen, with which she embeds her programmes in historical contexts.

Prof. Ragna Schirmer has been working at the highest level as a teacher for many years. Her work focuses on body and self-awareness, performance training and overcoming stage fright, as well as developing interpretations with attention to detail. Fostering her students' individuality is particularly important to her.
