“Marytwo” is the name of the new offspace in Lucerne’s old town. It was founded by DFA alumni Elvira Bättig and Jack Pryce. The opening took place with the exhibition “40 Days Work”.
Inspired by the concept of the historic Artist-Run Space 84 West Broadway, Elvira Bättig and Jack Pryce themed in “40 Days Work” the remodeled exhibition space at Mariahilfgasse 2a and the work done for it with friends and family. In addition to the renovation work, a site-specific work by the young artist Selini Demetriou was shown. It was a gift from the artist, sent by DHL directly from Naples to Lucerne.
And soon it goes on: “The Shop” celebrates Vernissage on 13 May from 6 pm at Mariahilfgasse 2a in Lucerne. Among the 14 positions shown are ZHdK Fine Arts lecturers (Cory Arcangel) and alumni. This second exhibition of the pre-season is an attempt to orient oneself in the new neighborhood and to make contemporary art accessible to a broad audience.
