    Mirjam Skal studied Composition for Film, Theatre and Media at ZHdK. She was awarded the 2025 German Documentary Film Music Prize for her film music for VRACHT by Max Carlo Kohal.

    The German Documentary Film Music Award 2025 is endowed by Versicherungskammer Kultur and supported by the German Composers' Association (Deutscher Komponist:innenverband) and comes with prize money of โ‚ฌ5,000. Dok.fest Munich notes on its website: โ€˜Unique in the German-speaking world, the German Documentary Film Music Award honours a composition for a feature-length documentary film that combines with the documentary film narrative in a special way. The award sees itself as a platform for the work of composers and the value of music as a narrative level in documentary film.
