On 13 March 2025, ZHdKโ€™s International Affairs Office welcomed the Human Rights Film Festival Zurich (HRFF) at ZHdKโ€™s Kino Toni and invited students and staff for the screening of the film โ€˜Twice Colonizedโ€™.

The film by Danish film director Lin Alluna documents the unwavering Inuk lawyer and activist Aaju Peter and her fight for the recognition of indigenous peoples, accompanying her on her personal journey back to the sites of her trauma. Her story raises questions of identity, belonging and recognition and sheds new light on the very real effects of colonisation.

In conversation with Tom Gerber, Lecturer in Film at the Department of Performing Arts, the Director of HRFF Zurich, Sascha Bleuler, gave a brief introduction to the film and the festival.

The 10th edition of HRFF Zurich will take place at Kino Riffraff from 27 March to 2 April 2025.
