May I use the workshop on my own?

Adrian Brazerol, Head of the Teaching Workshops, Production Centre: Yes, you may! Once you have completed the relevant Z-Tech course, nothing stops you from pursuing your design ideas with a 3D printer or CO2 laser printer. Our ten workshops have around six hundred machines to help users work with a wide variety of materials.

We want to achieve the best possible conditions for your studies and are always open to your concerns. When’s the rush hour in the cafeterias?

Marialaura Aceituno, Buffet employee, ZFV Catering Services: Most people want to have coffee between 10:00 and 10:30. We serve around 1500 wake me uppers at the Toni-Areal every day. Coffee is available with oat or cow milk, in reusable cups or your own. If you’re worried about dozing off in the queue, I recommend “ViCAFE” in the entrance hall.

What does the President of ZHdK do?

Karin Mairitsch, President: Together with my colleagues of the University Board, I am responsible for the strategic direction and management of the ZHdK. I represent the university externally, represent it in national and international committees and am responsible for contact with politics and authorities. I extend a warm welcome to all new students. With you, fresh ideas are moving onto the campus, you are filling the Toni with life. The ZHdK is a place where art is created, just as it is a place where society is questioned and shaped. I invite you to all of this. Take advantage of the free space we offer you here. Experiment, try things out, be and stay curious.
