Listen to the sky make music and play along with it. Listen to both of you through the string. “Triple Instruments” is a kite flying on a piano string; an instrument whose string extends into the sky; a piano string that connects a kite to an instrument on the ground. Three players make it sound: a human being on the ground, the uncontrollable wind, and a kite flying round and round. The sound waves of the string travel from the earth to the sky and back again. The unconnected is thus connected. Control and its loss come together. The wind enables action without consumption, on every first Wednesday of the month for those interested, in Sils Maria, where the Maloja Snake drifts by. “Triple Instruments” is also streamed live on Radio Worlwidewind from here to everywhere.

Florian Dombois studied geophysics as an artist. The sound artist works in the Department of Cultural Analysis and Mediation and leads the research focus on transdisciplinarity.

The research project "Triple Instruments" is supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation until August 2026. A public speeach and concert will take place on July 5 in Sils Maria. Sound samples and informations about the location and the project can be found here: worldwidewind.org
