Health challenges us every day. New technologies can inspire solutions. New approaches encourage a change of perspective. Changing needs influence our behaviour and require innovative approaches. How do we address these complex challenges? Through interdisciplinary collaboration, which is where we come in: The Digital Health Design Living Lab aims to foster dialogue between different disciplines and levels of experience and to initiate collaborative projects. The Digital Health Design Challenge was launched to provide a platform for such projects and to take ideas from the lab into practice.

The second edition of the Healthathon will take place on 7 December at the Zurich University of the Arts and will offer all interested parties the opportunity to delve deeper into the topic «Health Companions of Tomorrow: Co-Creating Interactions between People and Technology». Experts will present practical case studies and discuss related issues and specific requirements. Participants will then be invited to explore a selected topic in more depth in participatory workshops. For example, digital applications for specific situations can be explored, discussed and analysed in interdisciplinary groups. Participants are invited to contribute their individual experiences and disciplinary perspectives to the discussion and thus help shape the project idea.

The formation of teams is initiated in fun match-making sessions. Design methods will be used to guide the teams through the first steps of formulating specific project and concept ideas. These will serve as the basis for joint and potential project proposals for the Digital Health Design Challenge 2024 (deadline: 7 January 2025).

The event will be open to the public. Students, alumni, practitioners and researchers from design, ethics, health sciences and psychology, as well as patients and other interested parties are invited to network and start new collaborations. Secure your place by registering on www.dhdll.ch or by email.
