Sound engineer and ZHdK lecturer Daniel Dettwiler is known far beyond Switzerland and is considered a reference for the production of professional film music. He is now also teaching in the Minor ‘Producing Composing Music - advanced’. He can currently also be found in the magazine ‘Jazz in Europe’, which will publish a detailed interview with him in its autumn 2024 issue.

Daniel Dettweiler teaches music theory and is a lecturer in the Minor "Producing Composing Music - advanced" at ZHdK. He is the founder of the recording studio ‘Idee und Klang’, which specialises in the production of acoustic music, in particular jazz and film music.

Daniel Dettwiler is one of the most sought-after sound engineers for recording film music. He works closely with a young generation of Swiss composers such as Michael Künstle and Matteo Pagamici, Jakob Eisenbach and Mirjam Schnedl. They all studied at ZHdK.

In my teaching, I try to focus on teaching students how to listen. That's the most crucial skill.
