Backstage instead of lecture hall: Students of BA Major Cast / Audiovisual Media produced content for SRG’s digital channels during the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

Fourth-semester Bachelor’s students in Cast / Audiovisual Media spent two weeks in Basel as part of the “Im Auftrag produzieren” (Producing on Commission) module and reported on the versatile supporting programme organised by SRG to accompany the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). Working hand in hand with and on behalf of the SRG Public Value Team, the students developed content for social media from the St. Jakobshalle.

"As part of our practical training, our fourth-semester students learn and practice how to produce media content on a contract basis. Thanks to the cooperation with SRG Public Value and the immensely exciting setting of the ESC, this course proved to be particularly beneficial for both sides: we were able to contribute to making smaller but valuable events surrounding the world’s largest music competition visible to a wider audience – and at the same time experience first-hand the reality of working at such a major event. A huge thank you to Henriette Engbersen, division manager of Public Value SRG SSR, and her team, Francesca Guicciardi and Jara Helmi."
