A former ZHdK student modelled for the 520-centimetre-high chrome steel sculpture, which stands right next to the Toni-Areal at Pfingstweidstrasse 102.

In 2012, the Civil Engineering Department of the City of Zurich organised the open-air exhibition "Art and the City". Hardturm AG purchased three works from the exhibition and donated the art to the city. It was particularly fond of one work: the chrome steel sculpture "Vanessa" by ZHdK lecturer Alex Hanimann. However, as it was already taken, a "sister" had to be produced.

Anne-Sophie Bereuter was chosen as the model in a casting among ZHdK students. After an elaborate scanning process, the enlarged body was milled in polystyrene. The 1:1 model formed the template for the sculpture, which was "hammered" from over 700 individual sheet steel elements by specialists in Shanghai. Welded together and polished, they now form the shiny, mirrored surface. The production was realised in collaboration with Kunstgiesserei St.Gallen. Photographer Regula Bearth documented the entire creation process in Switzerland. The new sculpture was ceremoniously presented to the public at the end of October 2014.
