MTR alumna Anna Rubi's debut documentary 'Your Life Without Me' was the opening film of the Sarajevo Film Festival's documentary competition during August 2025, and also won the 'Human Rights Award', which is given to the best documentary on a human rights issue. In the film, a group of elderly mothers band together and sue the state to secure a dignified future for their disabled children.

After her career as a contemporary dancer, Anna Rubi studied Media Design at Moholy-Nagy University in Budapest and then completed her Master's degree in Transdisciplinarity at ZHdK in 2015. Our students know Rubi as a lecturer from project weeks at the Master's in Transdisciplinarity. After various short film projects that were shown at international festivals, Rubi worked as a video journalist for the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union, where she worked intensively with the disabled community and activists on campaigns. 'Your Life Without Me' is her first feature-length documentary.
