Eight films from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) have been selected for this year’s Solothurn Film Festival, taking place from January 22 to 29, 2025. Six short films and two documentaries showcase the talent and creativity of ZHdK students and alumni.

Short Films in the "Talent" Competition

As part of the "Talente" competition, the Suissimage/SSA Nachwuchspreis worth CHF 10.000 six short films by ZHdK students and alumni are featured in the "Panorama Kurzfilm" section:

- 1:10 by Sinan Taner 
- Lux Carne by Gabriel Grosclaude 
- Sieger by Edgar Gomes Ferreira 
- Zimnì Monology by Manuel Karel Seiler 
- Schlafsand by Elias Bötticher
- Revier by Felix Scherrer 
- Resort by Chanelle Eidenbenz

Documentaries in the "Visioni" Competition 

In the "Visioni" competition, which honors works that are outstanding in form or theme, two documentaries are featured: 

- Galaxi Urnäsch 3000 (directed by Scurlock      Lola, Nina Fritz, Felix Scherer, and Lasse Linder), making its world premiere in Solothurn. The film was created as part of the "Dokserie" seminar, where the entire Master’s cohort collaborates on a project. Set in the snow-covered Appenzellerland, the film explores the dreams of village youth envisioning new worlds while the local community navigates their winter routines. 
- Norma Dorma by Alumnus and Film lecturer Lorenz Suter
- Vracht by Max Carlo Kohal

- Bagger Drama by Piet Baumgartner, winner of the "New Directors Award" in San Sebastian.
- Jelmoli – Biografie eines Warenhauses by Sabine Gisiger (edited by Bachelor Film Alumba Fabienne Koch). 
- Behind the Glass by Olga Dinnikova (directed by alumna) and edited by Master Editing alumna  Carmen Walker.
- Electric Child by Alumnus Simon Jaquement (Bachelor Film Alumnus)
- Mother Mara by Mirjana Karanovic has been produced by Alumna und Film lecturer Andrea Štaka
- Die wundersame Verwandlung der Arbeiterklasse in Ausländer by Samir produced by Alumni Levin Vieth (Master Creative Producing Alumni) 
- Brunaupark by Alumni Felix Hergert (Master Editing Alumni) and Dominik Zietlow (Master Kamera student)
- When we were sisters by Lisa Brühlmann (Bachelor and Master Film Alumna)
- Friedas Fall by Maria Brendle (Bachelor Film Alumna) 

The centerpiece of the Solothurn Film Festival, "Panorama Schweiz," highlights current productions across all genres, including the works mentioned above.
