The fifth edition of the “ZHdK International Day” was dedicated to the topic of decolonisation. This complex topic was brought into focus by reflections and concrete examples from the artistic disciplines represented at ZHdK. After keynotes by Dr Michaela Oberhofer, Curator for Africa and Oceania and Deputy Head of Curatorship, Museum Rietberg, and Solange Mbanefo, Guest Curator and Exhibition Designer, Museum Rietberg (collaboration for the new exhibition “In Dialogue with Benin. Art, Colonialism and Restitution”), as well as Prof. Dr Imani Sanga, Professor of Music in the Department of Creative Arts, University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the topic was explored in small groups based on projects and initiatives within and outside ZHdK.
