The ZCCE is organizing a brown bag lunch with Venka Purushotaman.
We will explore the future of the arts and artists in Asia—a decentered, non-Eurocentric perspective that is of particular interest to us.
This talk will be informal, primarily taking the form of a Q&A dialogue with him in the ZCCE Room (5C12).
Professor Venka Purushotaman is a highly respected academic from Singapore. He completed his PhD in Australia and is a specialist in cultural policy as well as post-colonial studies (with a particular focus on Shakespeare). In addition to his numerous articles and books, he serves as the Provost of LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore, where he has led a significant transformation in arts education. More broadly, he is interested in the condition of artists in Southeast Asia and Asia— the central theme of our discussion.
