    PhD group modules (ongoing)

    Group meetings: Between September and June, the group meets a total of six times for two-day peer exchange meetings at the ZHdK or at partner universities. Common interests, challenges and individual process stages are shared and discussed in the form of colloquia, workshops and collective feedback sessions.

    Retreats/colloquia/conferences: There are various further opportunities for exchange with other doctoral candidates and researchers:
    – IfCAR-Grants colloquium (twice a year)
    – University of Arts Linz PhD colloquium (twice a year)
    – Mozarteum University Salzburg PhD exchange (once a year)
    – PhD Conference ZHdK
    – PhD-Retreat ZHdK PhD-Centre

    Individual supervision: Doctoral candidates meet regularly with their mentors individually to discuss the status and development of their research process. Each June, they submit a written annual report on the progress of the project.

    predoc Module 2023–2024

    Kick-off: The programme starts with an intensive workshop exclusively for the group’s members in the city of Prague (CZ), Sept 27–Oct 1, 2023

    Group meetings: From October 2023 to June 2024, the group will meet monthly at ZHdK to discuss specific issues and participate in peer-exchange

    Individual mentoring: All participants will develop their PhD proposal individually, supported by regular mentoring from the head of the program and other members of the DFA faculty

    Modules 2021–2022

    Kick-off: The programme starts with an intensive workshop (exclusively for the group’s members) at the Istituto Svizzero in Rome, September 15-18, 2021

    Group meetings: From October 2021 to June 2022, the group will meet monthly at ZHdK to discuss specific issues and participate in peer-exchange

    Individual mentoring: All participants will develop their PhD proposal individually, supported by regular mentoring from the director of the programme and other members of the DFA supervisors pool
