    Ronja Svaneborg

    Bio

Ronja Svaneborg is a Danish artist engaging in sound composition and critical fabulation as a means of voice production. Speculating on the voice: sonorous, oral expression and the event of speech, she asks: Who gets to be heard? How can space be generated for non-fitting voices or voices never considered voicing? Whoโ€™s listening?

With a practice that moves by the social transformation occurring when we lean into the ecosystem of a moment, she researches attunement and resonance in interrelated listening experiences. Paying attention to human oscillation; wired to tune in and share frequencies with our surroundings while forming collective bodies. How we are hereby capable of eluding definition and the boundary between self and other; facilitating non-verbal communication, collaboral thinking, and knowledge transmission among diverse communities. Acoustically disorientating and decentring knowledge production, expanding the perception of the known.

Ronja studied Fine Art at The Glasgow School of Art and obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree with distinction from Zurich University of the Arts in 2023.
