Mats Werchohlad researches spatial and transformational dynamics at the intersection of technology, education and society. His interdisciplinary approach is based on a degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc.) from the Technical University of Berlin and a Master’s degree in Urban Studies (M.Sc.) from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, where he took additional courses at the Faculty of Media. At the Kunsthochschule Kassel, Mats Werchohlad works as a research assistant in the Chair of Theory and Practice of Design. Previously, he researched and taught as a member of staff in the Chair of Spatial Planning and Spatial Research at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and at the Institute for Transport and Space at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt. As a project coordinator, he developed new interdisciplinary study programmes for the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Further research and educational projects were carried out as part of the Horizonte Initiative for Architectural Discourse, at the Bauhaus Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture and Planning, at the Venice Architecture Biennale, within the Network for architectural Research and the doctoral programme.
