The dissertation explores the digital sphere as an extension of reality and examines its tension with the self. Central to the analysis are the concepts of authority, autonomy, and authenticity (AAA), which serve as a framework for investigating the impact of digitality on (self-)formation. Methodologically, the study combines approaches from media philosophy and philosophy of education to understand digital figurations that generate new conditions for self-formation and social practices.
