Dr. Claudia Gladziejewski studied English, German and Journalism at the University of Hamburg. She completed her master’s degree in “Comparative Literature with a film element” at the UEA Norwich and subsequently earned her doctorate at the University of Hamburg.
She worked as an editor/dramaturg for broadcasters and film productions and has been an editor at Bayerischer Rundfunk since 1997. International film festivals such as Short Film Festival Hamburg, Tampere Film Festival, Regensburger Kurzfilmwoche and many more regularly appointed her to the jury. Since 2001 she has been increasingly active in the field of screenplay constellation and teaches at various film schools (HFF Munich, FABW, HMS and many more). She has directed and co-developed numerous award-winning films, including the OSCAR winner “The Lives of Others” in 2006, “The Story of the Weeping Camel”, which was nominated for an Oscar in 2005, and “Quiero Ser”, which won an Oscar in 2000.
In 2018 she was awarded the Metropolis Prize for “Best Performance by an commissioning editor”.
