Possible degrees

    CAS, DAS and MAS modules and mentoring sessions

    The Continuing Education Centre offers in-depth specialist knowledge of the arts and design through degree programmes, courses and mentoring sessions. All the formats mentioned below can be combined and converted to the next highest qualification level. Questions?     Master of Advanced Studies (MAS)
    An MAS comprises at least 60 ECTS*. Most MAS programmes at ZHdK are modular in structure and are made up of individual CAS courses that can be attended separately. An MAS programme takes between 4 and 12 semesters to complete.

    Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS)
    A DAS comprises at least 30 ECTS*. A DAS is often the combination of two CAS.

    Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS)
    A CAS comprises between 10 and 15 ECTS*. A CAS course takes 1 to 3 semesters to complete.

    Modules
    On courses offered by the Continuing Education Centre, a module comprises 20 lessons.

    Mentored Project Development
    ZHdK offers students the opportunity to broaden their own knowledge and skills on a mentoring scheme. This comprises five sessions with a mentor.

    *An ECTS equates to 25 to 30 hours of work. On courses offered by the Continuing Education Centre, these are divided into approx. 10 contact hours and approx. 20 hours of self-study. ECTS can only be awarded by universities and universities of applied sciences and arts.
