    Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS)

The “Supervision and Coaching with Artistic Perspectives” continuing education course builds on students’ prior individual therapeutic training and work experience. They learn how to initiate, carry out and evaluate competence, supervision and coaching processes professionally according to the situation at hand.

The course is a cooperation project between the University of Teacher Education at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (PH FHNW) and Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). It is international in nature and was designed together with colleagues from Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg (HfMT), Freies Musikzentrum Munich, and the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna (mdw) for German-speaking countries.

    Target group

The continuing education course is aimed at music therapists from Switzerland, Germany and Austria who would like to broaden their skills with a qualification in supervision and coaching. It is also suitable for people with a degree in other artistic-therapeutic subject areas as well as psychotherapists. Applicants must have in-depth practical experience in expression and communication with music.

    Structure

The continuing education course consists of two certificate courses (CAS).

    • CAS 1: Supervision and coaching in a one-to-one setting with artistic perspectives
    • CAS 2: Supervision and coaching of groups and teams with artistic perspectives

    Qualification and recognition

Upon completing the CAS 1 and 2, students will gain the Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) in “Integrative Consultancy: Supervision and Coaching with Artistic Perspectives”. It is recognized by the relevant professional associations in Switzerland (bso, odA Artecura), Germany (DGSv) and Austria (ÖSV):
